But for very high net worth individuals, there is also the fear of being defrauded, as the higher you go, the greater the risk of being scammed, as you tend to become a target. That’s probably part of what makes some of these people so miserable. Even in smaller everyday purchases, sometimes the price on negotiable items get jacked up unexpectedly. That’s frustrating and annoying, and it tends to make you distrust almost everyone in business. And women have it worse than men, generally.
